5ber is like any other SIM card, at least in appearance. Comes with a SIM tray removal tool in the mail. To use it, you just need to insert it into your device’s SIM slot and do a little configuration from the app.
The unique feature of the 5ber SIM card is that it incorporates eSIM technology, making it compatible with any mobile phone (although not compatible with the original). Once you add the card to your phone, you can use the network service of any global operator that Esim offers by simply scanning the QR code.
You can easily store up to 15 different eSIMs in this SIM and the application allows you to manage all profiles.
How to use the 5ber card to get an eSIM on any mobile
What I love about the 5ber card is that it’s so easy to use:
Insert the card into the SIM slot of your mobile phone. Download the 5ber.eSIM app from the Google Play Store. When you open the app, it will tell you if the slots on your phone are compatible with the card. Select which SIM slot you have for the 5ber card. Click Continue and then you will reach the main panel where you will see the option of Scan QR Code or Photo Library. Scan your SIM’s QR code (or select it from the gallery) and activate it by following the suggested steps.
That easy! Please note that some mobile phones may not be compatible with this card due to restrictions imposed by each manufacturer, operator or region. But normally any unlocked mobile is compatible.
5ber card restrictions
Not everything is pretty when you use the 5ber card to get the SIM. Here we leave some of the “cons” we found.
You can only use one eSIM at a time (although you can store up to 15). When you buy the $12 standard version, you can only download 2 eSIMs. If you want unlimited eSIM downloads, you need to buy the premium version which costs $25. It doesn’t have an iPhone app. Although it can be used on iPhone, it is not available in the iOS app store. If you configure the card on Android (using the app to select the SIM profile), you can use it as a standard SIM on any other mobile phone, including iPhones.
Apart from these specs, we didn’t experience any major issues with the 5ber card. We were able to use it to add different SIMs to the mobile phone by simply switching the application which makes profile management very easy.
Is a 5ber card worth it to use eSIM on any mobile?
A 5ber card can be a useful option for those looking for the flexibility and usability of eSIM technology. Its capacity to store up to 15 eSIMs and the ability to use any operator’s network service that the eSIM offers are key advantages.
In addition, the installation and activation process is simple and easy, which is ideal for users who prefer a hassle-free experience. However, limitations such as the inability to use multiple SIMs simultaneously and the need to purchase a premium version for unlimited SIM downloads should be considered.
The lack of iPhone support through the app itself can be a hindrance for iOS users, although there are workarounds. Ultimately, if these features and limitations match your needs and expectations, a 5ber card is a worthwhile investment, especially if your phone doesn’t have an SIM card and you travel frequently to different countries.
