It turns out that recently YouTube was left without the music licenses from the Society of European Theater Authors and Composers (SESAC) and failed to reach a renewal agreement.

“We have been in good faith negotiations with SESAC to renew our existing agreement. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we were unable to reach a fair agreement before its deadline. We take copyright very seriously, and as a result, content represented by SESAC is no longer available on YouTube in the United States and other regions. “We are in active negotiations with SESAC and hope to reach a new agreement as soon as possible.”
It’s just like what happened with TikTok, Both sides failed to agree on a new contract.. Therefore, YouTube cannot use the music because it would violate copyright laws on creations licensed by SESAC.
