A few weeks ago we looked at how the arrival of BlackMagic Camera on Android could change the entire landscape of video recording on mobile phones. This professional application makes the most of any flagship mobile camera, which is why we said so.
With this app on Android, the risk that Apple would lose the title of best phone for recording videos was huge. However, this did not happen and even the apple manufacturing company decided to get involved. The iPhone 16 Pro Max has become the best phone for recording video in 2024leaving the bar even higher for rivals.
DxOMark is clear: the iPhone 16 Pro Max records video like never before seen on any phone
Many Android phones could surpass iPhones in photography, as is the case with the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and the Honor Magic6 Pro. But that’s no secret. iPhones are the kings of video recording and Apple reconfirms it in 2024.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max has been through the DxOMark labs and its Experts gave it a score of 159 in video tests. This is the highest score ever achieved in this section, so Apple will keep the crown for a while longer. This is what the DxOMark team had to say about the video performance of this phone:
- The video quality is phenomenalwith fantastic levels of detail in most tests, even in low light conditions.
- Exposure and color accuracy were excellent and very consistent.with minimal variations between tests.
- The texture is the best seen on any mobile phone while recordingwhile the noise was found to be non-existent or very low in the various tests.
- Autofocus is fast and accurateeven in low light conditions. The same thing happened with image stabilization, one of the best on the market.
- The performance was outstanding not only in the various automatic recording modes, but also in the professional one. Recording in 4K at 120 FPS also went very well.although in low light conditions some affectation was noticeable.
- Recording with HDR features enabled is brutal.although you will only be able to enjoy them on devices with HDR screens (as is always the case).
As you can see, DxOMark has only said wonderful things about this phone. when it comes to recording videos, imagine how good it will go. Surprising? It doesn’t come from an iPhone at all, but this amazing result clearly proves it. For Androids it will now be even more difficult surpass Apple in this segment. Do you think they’ll ever make it?
