It is a thin and light tablet for its size

OUKITEL OT8 is an attention-grabbing tablet with a large 11-inch screen with Full HD+ resolution. It is an INCELL panel with good image quality, bright colors and wide viewing angles. The screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio, which makes it comfortable for watching videos and games. In addition, it has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection which provides resistance to scratches and bumps.

The design of the tablet is beautiful and minimalistic. The body screen ratio is reduced by 81%. The body is made of aluminum and has a matte finish that gives it a premium touch. The tablet is very thin (7.8mm) and light (515g), which makes it very comfortable to use. It does not tire the hand and can be held without discomfort.

At the back we find a 13MP main camera with the brand logo. On the right side, we only have the button to control the volume. At the bottom is a USB-C port, a pair of speakers, and a SIM and microSD card tray. The headphone jack is located in the lower right corner, while the power button and two additional speakers provide powerful and clear sound.

The tablet comes with a silicone book-style case that protects bodies from drops and bumps. The case has a back stand that allows you to prop up the tablet to watch videos or write comfortably. Of course, this case doesn’t have smart power, which means the screen won’t turn on when you open it or turn off when you close it.

It also comes with a simple lightweight pen that requires no batteries and has no buttons. Later we will tell you about our experience drawing with this pencil on the tablet, but we warn you in advance that it is not the best for those who want to make drawings or sketches at a high level of detail. And since it’s not optimized for the tablet and included in the gift is a universal pen (which you can use on your mobile), we’re not surprised.

For the correct performance of basic functions

OUKITEL OT8 is not overpowered in performance. It’s a low-power tablet designed for basic tasks like reading, playing videos or watching streaming content. It can be used to play some games, as long as they are simple and do not require too much graphics.

In short, the tablet’s performance is good for everyday use. Unisoc Tiger T606 processor with 12nm chip, 8 cores with ARM Mali G57 graphics, supported by 6GB LPDDR4x RAM (up to 30 GB) and 256 GB of storage in UFS format, expandable by microSD card up to 1 TB.

The operating system available is Android 13 with a clean and fluid interface, hardly any pre-installed apps. All this allows the tablet to provide a seamless user experience, as long as you don’t need too much of it.

By the way, OUKITEL OT8 has two 4G SIM card slots so it can be used as a phone. It is also compatible with most operators and has dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou. The connection is stable and fast, both on data and WiFi. The tablet has a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is admirable in this day and age.

On the other hand, we must highlight that the OUKITEL OT8 is great for streaming games thanks to its large screen and four speakers. For example, you can switch to a next-generation portable console using services like GeForce Now or Steam Link.

The screen is great for watching movies and series, but not for drawing

Unlike other similar tablets in the same price range, the OUKITEL OT8 has Widevine L1. Thanks to this, we were able to watch Prime Video and Disney+ content in full HD without any restrictions. There is a resolution limitation with Netflix as the tablet is not platform certified (they will soon update it to play Netflix in full HD).

Image quality is pretty good for an LCD panel, but we have to say we were disappointed with its performance with the included stylus (not a tablet feature that the brand stands out for).

If you want a tablet that feels like you’re drawing on paper, the OUKITEL OT8 is not for you. And although it includes a good quality stylus, there is a slight lag when drawing freehand. The screen also does not distinguish the pressures in the layout, so it is not suitable for making drawings or designs that require small details. However, we would appreciate it if you brought your own pencil, as it is good for taking notes.

How long does the OUKITEL OT8 battery last?

The battery is one of the best things about this tablet. It has a capacity of 8800 mAh, which gives it a day of autonomy with normal use, although moderate use can be extended up to 2 days or by activating the power saving mode. OUKITEL OT8 also has 18W fast charging, which allows it to be charged in three hours.

Is the OUKITEL OT8 tablet worth buying?

The OUKITEL OT8 is a great value for money tablet for those looking for a large screen, stylish design and good performance. Its 11-inch full HD+ screen, 8800 mAh battery, 256 GB storage and quad speakers stand out. In addition, it comes with a book-style case and a style that works without batteries.

It has some aspects that could be improved, such as pen lag, the lack of smart power on the case or the lack of Netflix certification in Full HD. However, these are minor details that don’t detract from the great experience this tablet offers.

Currently, OUKITEL OT8 can be purchased from the brand’s official store. 170,99 eurosIt represents a huge discount compared to the original price of €284.99. At this price, it is impossible not to recommend it. If the limitations don’t bother you, go for it!
