Thin as a sheet and weighs only 1 kg

The first thing that catches your attention about the ASUS ZenBook S 13 OLED is its appearance. It is a very thin laptop, only 12 mm thick and very light, weighing 1.0 kg. This makes it the ideal companion to take anywhere, to work, university or on a trip. In addition, it has a very beautiful and resistant metal (plasma ceramic aluminum), which gives it a high touch.

You can always carry in your bag what you don’t even know about. The model we tested is dark blue (almost black) and we love how understated it is. It has clean lines on the lid that look great and give it personality. This minimum is due to the fact that only the minimum necessary ports are transferred to the connection.

In particular, it has an HDMI 2.1 port for connecting to an external monitor, two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports (supporting fast charging, up to 40 Gbps data transfer and screen and video transmission), a 3.5 mm jack for headphones and a USB-A port for USB memory or peripherals. to connect.

It doesn’t have anything else but the two USB-C ports are enough to allow you to connect whatever you want to the laptop. Another detail worth noting about the ASUS ZenBook S 13 OLED is that it has two air intakes leading to a dual fan and dual radiator module. Thanks to this, it does not heat up and practically does not make any noise.

The ASUS ZenBook S 13 OLED keyboard is another aspect I really like. It has well-placed keys with a decent size and good travel for comfortable typing. In addition, the keyboard is backlit and adapts to the ambient light level. The touchpad works very well, it is spacious and accurate.

It lacks some of the features that have become fashionable in laptops recently, such as an integrated fingerprint reader and touch screen, but… are they really necessary? Not in my case, so I don’t think it has any flaws or missing features.

Its OLED screen is fun to consume multimedia content.

But what makes this laptop special is the screen. It has a 13.3-inch OLED screen with 2.8K HDR resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. The image quality is amazing, with bright colors and deep contrasts.

In fact, it covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space, which makes it ideal for professionals who work with images and videos, as well as users who want the best possible viewing experience.

The display offers a very wide viewing angle, a decent 60Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 550 nits. From movies and series to games and photos, you can no doubt enjoy all kinds of multimedia content. It makes everything more realistic and active. It’s amazing!

Good performance for all kinds of work

The performance of the ASUS ZenBook S 13 OLED is not far behind. The model I tested has a 13th generation Intel Core i7-1355U processor, with 10 cores and 12 threads. Along with the processor we have 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1 TB of SSD storage.

With this configuration, the laptop offers excellent fluidity in all kinds of tasks: from basic ones like browsing the Internet or using office programs, to things like video editing or playing unwanted games.

Another highlight of the ASUS ZenBook S 13 OLED is its battery. According to the manufacturer, it has an average autonomy of up to 14 hours per charge. In my experience, using the laptop to work with multiple tabs, watch some videos and listen to music, the battery lasted about 10 hours, which is still pretty good. The laptop also has a fast charging system that allows the battery to recover to 70 percent in 49 minutes.

Overall, it’s a great office laptop with amazing battery life. Integrated graphics are not designed for tasks that require graphics, so it is not suitable for creative work or looking for games. It’s a great alternative to the MacBook Air, especially if you prioritize battery life and everyday performance.

Is the ASUS ZenBook S 13 OLED worth buying?

Asus Zenbook S 13 Oled
If you want a thin, durable laptop with a premium display, it’s worth the investment.

ASUS ZenBook S 13 OLED stands out for its thin and light design with a sleek and durable metal finish. The 13.3-inch OLED screen has exceptional image quality with 2.8K HDR resolution, ideal for consuming multimedia content.

In terms of performance, it allows you to perform all kinds of tasks efficiently, as long as they are not graphically demanding. The battery gives you the autonomy you need for the workday.

In short, it is a laptop suitable for office and productivity, with an amazing screen and battery life. It is not very good for playing modern games in high quality, but it is highly recommended for everything. It’s a great alternative to the MacBook Air, especially for those who value battery life, screen quality, and performance in everyday tasks.

Although you can already get it on Amazon, it costs 1,299 euros. 1259 euros. Is it worth that price? Yes, especially if you want the best image quality possible in a thin and light laptop. Now, if you settle for lower image quality, you’ll probably opt for a laptop with a worse-looking and heavier, but also cheaper LCD panel.
