Android is working on its next version, this 2024 it is giving new changes to the devices. Not much is known yet. One of the first things revealed was that Android 6 or earlier won’t accept the installation of apps, and now another detail comes to light, bigger and more interesting.
And, as you can see, Android 15 works in “Windows” mode for your mobile phones. What does this mean? We may be close to seeing Google’s attempt to replace computers with Android devices in a similar fashion to operating systems like Windows or macOS.
Android 15’s “Windows” mode allows you to customize app windows.
Thanks to Android Authority, news of what Android 15 will bring has come to light earlier. Google is working on the possibility of managing windows differently on its devices to provide a mode similar to the Windows desktop.
To do this, the beta version of Android 15 shows a section at the top of the application window with various options. With this menu, it is possible to make the running program occupy the whole screen, or only part of it. In this way, it brings to the table the novelty of being able to run and view multiple windows simultaneously on the screen.
You can move them, change their sizes, and decide to close them or increase their size. The feature brings Android 15 closer to what Windows or MacOS represents, as the management of windows and applications will be on the same level.
We still need to see the official and stable version of Android 15 on our device. So the potential changes remain to be seen through the leaks and the beta program. All indications are that the new features will include more surprises than those seen in Android 14, so it’s clear that Google is continuing its efforts to differentiate itself from the competition.
