Bad news for Xiaomi mobile users. And the brand just removed one of the most popular functions of these phones: the option to listen to videos with the screen off, widely used on YouTube.
That’s right, the main feature of Xiaomi Video Toolbox is no longer available and here’s why. Updating the security app to version 8.7. This update removes this functionality for reasons that are not yet clear.
Fortunately, there is a way to recover the function of listening to YouTube on Xiaomi phones with the screen turned off. Below, we will tell you how to do it.
Xiaomi won’t let you listen to YouTube with the screen off: solution
It is very easy to recover the functionality of listening to YouTube after the screen is turned off by Xiaomi Video Toolbox. And best of all, you don’t need to install anything. Below, we break down the steps to do it:
Open your Xiaomi Settings and click on System App Update. The next thing to do is click on the Options button (⋮) and then on Settings. In this section, you need to click on Automatic Update and select the Do Not Update option. Now go back to the general settings of the mobile and go to the applications section. Here you have to click on Manage apps and search for security app. Once you have it, install it and you will see that version 8.7 is installed. Well, here you should uninstall updates and then click OK. Finally, make sure the Security app is rolled back to the version before 8.7 and now you will have the option again to listen to videos from the Xiaomi Video Toolbox with the screen off.
Finally, it is necessary to mention that This solution only works with Xiaomi phones that have not received a new system update. If your phone is missing this feature due to HyperOS or newer version of MIUI, this solution will not work for you.
