If you want to search the address of a place from Google and find it on the map, you already noticed that it is not possible to open Google Maps this way. Unfortunately, this is not a bug that will be fixed soon, but a change made by Google that is not user-friendly.
The reason comes from the DMA (Digital Markets Act), which, with its introduction, is changing the rules of the game for many major technology companies. Not only Apple is forced to install applications from other sources, but Google is also governed by these rules. We already know that it will implement changes to the services and one of them will unfortunately affect the ability to open Google Maps from the company’s browser.
Why doesn’t Google Maps open from the Google search engine?
DMA managed to get the big G to change the way it displays results in an attempt to control and control Google’s monopoly, even from its own search engine. This especially affects the search for addresses; It’s not like it used to be, but rather less insightful.
You may have noticed by now. If you search for an address on Google, you won’t see the location as the first result on Google Maps. It can be low, and it can even be invisible. It is intended that other third party sources have the opportunity to provide similar information. In fact, the Google Maps service is not directly linked to the browser in question because Google has delivered it so well. If you find the map among the results, clicking on it will not take you to Google Maps.
To do this, you must look for the “Directions” option among the buttons on the map, to indicate that you really want to use this service. But that’s not the worst: even the maps section among the output options is completely gone. Before we look at “Images”, “Videos”, “News”, “Books” and “Finance”.
