WhatsApp has recently made a major update that mostly overhauls the app’s interface. That has led many people to think that WhatsApp statuses are gone when they are only taken to the new “News” tab. Another change that has caught the eye is the new look on WhatsApp.

What is the new WhatsApp Eye and why?
The new WhatsApp Eye will appear under your status and indicate how many people have viewed your status. It helps you find out who is viewing your stories quickly and easily. When you click on the eye icon, a list of contacts who have seen the status will appear.
Remember that you will only see the status of people who have “Read confirmations” enabled in WhatsApp. If someone doesn’t have that option enabled and sees your status, that person’s status won’t show up in the eye icon.
How to avoid leaving what appears in WhatsApp status
If you don’t want to be seen on the new WhatsApp eye, all you have to do is disable read receipts to avoid showing up in regions. How do you do this? in order to –
Open WhatsApp. Tap the three dots in the top right corner. Select Settings. Select Privacy. Disable the Read Receipts option.
Ready! It means that the next time you see a person’s status on WhatsApp, they won’t see you and no one will know that you saw that story.
Now, keep in mind that by disabling read receipts, you won’t be able to see if someone has seen your status (which WhatsApp Eye doesn’t do). Similarly, this will remove the double blue check from the messages in the chat.
What most people do is to disable read receipts and re-enable that option when they see situations. This way, WhatsApp won’t let anyone know that they’ve seen your status and you can still get all the benefits of read receipts.
