Don’t know where the Play Store search bar is? Don’t worry, you’re not the only one who hasn’t found the search bar in the Google App Store in recent days. And the Play Store has released a new design that removes the search bar at the top of the screen. This new design is not available to all users yet, but it is starting to appear on some mobile phones.
So is the Play Store search engine gone forever? Nothing to see. Instead, there is now a dedicated search tab at the bottom of the screen. This was spotted by leaker AssembleDebug in two screenshots of the new Play Store version, which includes a new search tab. We will immediately explain how this new design works.
Normally, to search for something in the Google App Store, press the search bar at the top and type what you want to find. Now, after applying the new design, it is important to press the search tab below and then press the search bar shown above.
Please note that if you open any tab in the store other than the search tab, the search field will disappear. In this way, the interface is cleaner, which should somehow improve the user’s browsing experience.
There is a bug that causes the search bar to not show up at all.
Now some users have found that the search bar is missing the search tab at the top or bottom. The solution that users have found for this problem is to click on the books tab, which will make the search bar appear at the top.
Clearing the Google Play Store cache and data also seems to fix this error, but only do this as a last resort as it may negatively affect app updates. Let’s hope Google fixes this bug soon.
