Review of the AGM PAD T2: a multimedia tablet for €200

Agm Pad T2 Review

The successor to the AGM PAD T1 tablet that we analyzed a few months ago is here. How could it be otherwise, its name is AGM PAD T2 e includes improvements in almost all sections while maintaining a competitive price. It is a modest tablet with a huge battery and an ergonomic design, which can be a good option for those looking for a quality tablet without spending a lot.

I’ve been testing it and it’s exactly what I expected: a necessary renewal of a tablet that was already good, but which is now even more so. If you want to know why, I’ll tell you my impressions and all the details of this tablet right away.

The AGM PAD T2 is a slim tablet with an aluminum casing, which has an FHD+ screen of about 11 inches, 4 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, 7850 mAh battery and Android 14 installed from the factory. It is simple, discreet and performs basic tasks very well.. I leave you its technical sheet to later talk more in depth about its details.

Aluminum body, ultra-slim profile and elegant design

As we mentioned before, the AGM PAD T2 is made with an aluminum casing that has a soft-touch matte finish (although prone to leaving fingerprints). It looks great and is comfortable to hold thanks to its thickness of only 7.45 mm. The frame of its screen, however, is quite wide and ruins the elegance a bit, making it look somewhat dated.

Something that I found curious about the design of this tablet is that it has two modules to house its dual rear camera. In one box it has its 13 MP main sensor and in another separate box is its 2 MP macro camera with an LED flash. Typically, manufacturers group all sensors into a single module to keep the design simple. In this case, the tablet with the double module doesn’t look bad, although I don’t think it adds much to the aesthetics either.

On the edge of the display is an 8MP selfie camera that works well and offers decent image quality. Neither the rear nor the front camera are spectacular, but for an inexpensive tablet, They are fine; They are used to make video calls and occasionally take photos. Although they will not replace your cell phone cameras, it is an option that is there when you need it.

Isn’t this tablet very heavy? weigh exactly 502 gramswhich I don’t consider to be much considering that it is an 11-inch tablet with almost 8000 mAh battery. It hasn’t felt heavy for me in daily use, although it is normal that after several hours of use your hands start to get tired.

By the way, this tablet has two speakers located on the sides to provide you with stereo soundas well as the typical on/off and volume control buttons. It also has a vibration motor that has a small flaw: in horizontal mode it causes uneven vibration (it is only felt on one side).

The Full HD screen looks great

The AGM PAD T2 has a 10.95-inch Full HD+ screen and reaches a maximum brightness of 500 nitsensuring optimal visibility under sunlight. It is also Widevine L1 certified to watch content from apps like Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ in the highest quality possible.

The screen offers a perfect balance between brightness and detail. I loved it to watch movies, series and videos in general. Its LCD panel looks so good that it even looks like an OLED one; It is colorful, crisp and vibrant. Obviously, its contrast can be improved and it does not support HDR.

Its refresh rate is 60 Hz, which doesn’t seem bad to me considering that a higher rate would increase the price of the tablet and battery consumption. Also, it wouldn’t really take advantage of it because its hardware isn’t powerful enough to run games at 90 FPS or 120 FPS.

Good performance for the basics

The AGM PAD T2 is a leap in power compared to the PAD T1: it changes the Unisoc T606 for the Helio G91 that offers 16% more performance. However, when analyzing the tablet with the app HW device information We discovered that it actually uses the Helio G70 chip. We do not know if it is a peculiarity of the model we received or if all PAD T2s actually have said processor and their official technical data sheet is wrong.

Anyway, checking reviews and forums on the Internet, we found that other people have also received their PAD T2 with Helio G70, so keep that in mind. By the way, the Helio G70 is slightly inferior to the Helio G91, but slightly superior to the Unisoc T606 in terms of performance. Therefore, whatever processor the tablet has, the performance for basic tasks will be practically the same.

For watching videos, reading, browsing web pages and playing simple games, it’s great. It doesn’t get stuck, it runs smoothly and it doesn’t get excessively hot.. In addition, it comes standard with Android 14 in its purest version, without bloatware and with all the essential Google apps installed. Its minimalist interface makes the user experience perfect for people of all ages.

The AGM PAD T2 offers 256 GB internal storageproviding ample space to store large files, photos, videos and applications. Additionally, it gives you the option to expand the storage up to 512 GB using a microSD card.

It also has 8 GB of RAM (4 GB physical + 4 GB virtual), which allows you to run multiple apps at the same time fluently and no waiting times when switching between applications. However, I would not advise you to push the T2 PAD to its maximum limits. It is not a tablet for games or demanding apps. If you try to do things beyond its capabilities, you will notice slowdowns, crashes, etc. Nowadays 4 GB of RAM can fall short in many apps.

By the way, this tablet has a SIM slot for 4G connectivityFM radio and GPS as the only interesting extras.

How long does the AGM PAD T2 battery last?

One of the great advantages of the AGM PAD T2 is its large 7850 mAh battery. In my tests, It lasted between 6 and 8 hours playing videos on YouTube and watching series. Depending on the brightness and what you do on the tablet, its battery may last more or less, but it will usually last a whole day of normal use and even a little longer.

It should be noted that, although its charger is 18 W, It takes almost 2 hours to charge from 0 to 100%. It’s a lot, but it’s one of the disadvantages of being cheap and having such a large battery.

Is the AGM PAD T2 tablet worth buying?

Agm Pad T2 Is Worth ItAgm Pad T2 Is Worth It
It is a tablet recommended for basic tasks due to its low cost and high resolution screen

The AGM PAD T2 is a balanced tablet that stands out for its screen, battery and design. If you are looking for a tablet to surf the Internet, watch videos, read e-books and perform basic tasks, this can be an excellent option.

It has a slim design (7.45 mm) that makes it elegant and comfortable to hold, a high-quality Full HD screen that looks good even outdoors thanks to its 500 nits of maximum brightness, and a 7850 mAh battery that gives you 1 day or more of autonomy without problem.

You just have to keep in mind that its performance is modest, so it is not suitable for gaming, but for everything else it works very well. It has a practically pure version of Android 14 with Google apps that performs perfectly in everyday tasks and it’s easy for anyone to use. Its current price is 179 on Amazon. Recommended, especially if you catch it on sale.

And if you already have the AGM PAD T1, I don’t advise you to jump to this new model because the improvements are not big enough to make it worth the expense.
