Roborock is one of the biggest and best names in robot voids and the company is trying something new this year with the Saros 10 and Saros 10r who are extremely similar in many ways – including their price – but with each of them having a key force. What is better? I spent the last two months trying to find out.
The Saros range is a new derivation of the products for vacuum cleaner and Mop Roborock mop robot, and one that offers in an area that really matters – size. Over the years the void robots have advanced in many ways, but the main differentiation of the Saros 10 series, I discovered, is that both models are shorter to the ground than others. By abandoning the sensors mounted at the top in two intelligent ways, these machines can adapt under more things, providing a deeper cleaning in your home.
Roborock Saros 10 realizes his shorter profile of 7.98 cm (3.14 inches) taking the important sensors mounted at the top and putting them in retractable accommodation. This allows the machine to see that it is coming to a shorter object and cut down the sensors so that it can adapt. Clean! In the meantime, Saros 10r completely eliminates an array mounted at the top, instead using a new “Starsight” system for navigation that does not need that higher array.

In action, these systems both work quite well. The Saros 10r Starta system is more advanced for navigation practically throughout the line, leading to a car that is better to avoid obstacles. The 10R regularly avoided cables, plastic pieces and other small obstacles that constantly cause problems for other robot vacuum cleaners that I tested, including Saros 10. However, no machine was perfect when it was to work with its additional authorization under the furniture. Saros 10 and 10r are regularly captured under my sofas (about 3.3 inches of space) because, while rightly they discovered that they could adapt under the initial gap, they could not avoid parts of the sofa once below. On 10 because he could not raise his sensor array and the 10r because those obstacles were not in sight. While I appreciate that the authorization added for having put under wardrobes and tables in my house that other voids could not, I ended up having to establish no-go areas for my sofa and a couple of other furniture that these voids would have been repeatedly captured below. This aspect continues to improve the generation for generation and Roborock also deserves the merit of having a function in its app in which robots will record where they will often remain blocked and suggest doing areas without Go for those positions! Having said that, I think Roborock could tune them off a little better (or offer an option to tune them off at the end of the user) because, at the moment, they are a little too optimistic on where they will adapt.

The other push to the crossbar that you will find on these robots is the ability to increase the entire frame up to 1.57 inches. This is a huge advantage when it comes to overcoming the boundaries of the room or some obstacles. The coating around my living room fireplace was a sore point for many robot vacuum cleaner that I used, but the SAROS 10 series easily makes the jump. The same goes for the largest feet of my standing desk, that both these robots can climb instead of being captured.
But how is the actual cleaning process?
This is perhaps the largest area in which these two models differ.
Roborock Saros 10r presents a strong emptiness combined with double rotating mop heads on “flexarm” supports. This allows Mop’s head to be extended to adapt to a narrow corner or rather clean along a wall. It is ridiculously beautiful to see in person and really translates into a better general cleaning.

In the meantime, Saros 10 relies on Roborock’s Mop “Sonic” who has a vibrant bearing for cleaning the floors. It therefore has an extra Mop on the side to capture the corners and the wall. I discovered that Saros 10r seems to offer better coverage, while the washing of the 10 leaves my floors just a little cleaner, especially in the case of dry mud or escape. The Saros 10 also has a flexarm for the void brush, which means that it is better to enter those angles for dust and debris.

Both machines have a divided brush that is better not to tighten in the hair – perhaps my favorite update for the void robots in recent years – and they can both lift the broom when it goes beyond the carpet, or detach it completely and leave it in the dock. That second part is rather impressive, even if it does not start a lot at my house, which is a completely hard floor with area carpets in all. For a little more information on how the 10R works in a house in carpet, watch 9to5Toys.
The other thing you will find on both of these robots is a self-life dustbin and automatic mop with clean and dirty water tanks. The ability is not particularly impressive, but Roborock’s designs are more convenient than ever to work. The dirty water tank is exposed on 10R, making it easy to grab and empty and then put back. On the 10 pier, there is a red light to indicate that you have to empty or fill the water. These are cute touches, welcome. The piers in his entire work is very well and are easy to keep clean and have drying sequences that are extraordinarily silent. The only headache in which I came across is that, on both piers, I would regularly find offline robots because they had not completely anchored and had gone in sleep mode. This only requires to reprogram the robot in the dock, but it is a strange problem in which I haven’t come across for quite a while.

The Roborock app as a whole remains better than ever. It offers intelligent suggestions to improve cleaning and puts all the necessary information in a useful and weighted place. The possibility of using robots as a remote movement camera – which includes an audible announcement from the void to inform you that the camera is on – is also useful.
Comparing Saros 10 and Saros 10r is truly a split hair game. Both models offer excellent navigation and cleaning, with strengths in their areas. I think Saros 10 is the best overall cleaning tool, with a more effective vacuum cover and a washing mop. In the meantime, Saros 10r is more a “set it and forget it” machine because of its best navigation and avoidance of obstacles. The beautiful thing is that you can choose which of these it works best for you, since both have the same price at $ 1,599.
