They are two phones that make clear the maturity achieved by the brand, as well as meeting the expectations that they generated before presenting them. However, not everything can be high-end smartphones. Yes, they are very nice for the photos and headlines, but they are rarely the ones who pay the bills.
In reality, the mid and low ranges account for the bulk of sales, so you also need to give them a little love from time to time. That’s exactly what the company just did by introducing its Realme C85 5G and Realme C85 Pro, two phones that, honestly, have more shadows than lights. Fast screens and good protection, but processors that need to be taken off the market
Realme’s new mid-range models are carbon copies of each otherbecause they are also sold in the same color palette. The differences in size and weight are imperceptible, on an aesthetic level they do not exist and both tThey have IP68/IP69K + MIL-STD-810H protectionSo how do you differentiate them?
The first key element is on the screens, where something atypical happens: The LTE model has a better panel than the 5G. Yes, both phones share 6.8″ panels with 1200 nits brightness in HBM mode, but from then on they differ: the Realme C85 Pro (LTE) has a 120 Hz AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution; Meanwhile, the Realme C85 5G remains with a 144 Hz IPS panel with HD+ resolution. Yes, the 5G model has a higher refresh rate, but lower image quality and screen resolution.
The other fundamental difference between this pair of devices is the processors, which, at the same time, represent their weak point. The Realme C85 Pro has the Snapdragon 685While the Realme C85 5G equips the Dimensity 6300and here we stop briefly.
The SD685 was launched in March 2023 and already at that time it made no senseimagine late 2025. We understand that it’s Qualcomm’s most powerful LTE chip and it’s not like MediaTek has a much better one, but it’s time to let it die. It is unheard of for a cell phone to cost more than 200 euros they don’t even reach 350,000 points on AnTuTua clearly low score. And this also applies to the price of Vietnam, because in Spain it could easily start from 250 euros.
With the Dimensity 6300 the thing is not much different, although less serious. That’s a chip launched in April 2024 moves around 428,000 points on AnTuTu. However, the Dimensity 6400 already exists and is 40% better, offering much more decent performance without upsetting the price.
Having said that, let’s go back to the rest of the technical section, where there are no differences between the two devices.
A single working 50MP camera on the back, although they have good batteries and charging power
Even though they appear to have three rear cameras, the two phones presented only have one really useful one. However, the 50MP Sony IMX852 is a very competent sensor. By the way, the front camera of both is 8 MP.
And if you ask about the power system, then we have to say that Realme has put love into this pair. Both smartphones They have 7000 mAh batteries and are compatible with 45W fast chargingtwo truly excellent figures for its market niche.
And the operating system? Unfortunately, Android 15 with Realme UI 6. What about RAM and storage? Realme announced it a maximum of 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for both devices.
