OnePlus has launched the successor to the OnePlus Nord CE3 Lite, one of the most successful mid-budget phones of last year. That’s right, we’re talking about the new OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite, which the brand is promoting as an “incredibly fun” evolutionary phone… but is it really? The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite has a new 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with 1080p resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, the only new feature up to this point being the jump from LCD (from the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite) to AMOLED. As it offers better contrast, colors and power performance.
But also, this new screen has a maximum brightness of 2100 nits, which means that you can use it directly under the sun without any problems. It also launches Aqua Touch technology, which allows you to use the screen with wet hands. This does not mean that the mobile is hacked, as the certificate is IP54.
Another new feature of this phone is its large 5110 mAh battery. Self-administration of 2 days with regular use. And fast charging has also been added, this time 80 W to take the battery from 1 to 100% in 5 minutes.
With screen, autopilot, and camera upgrades… but performance remains the same.
Has the camera improved compared to the Nord CE 3 Lite? Yes, even if it sacrifices megapixels. And it leaves Samsung’s 108 MP sensor behind to install a new generation 50 MP Sony LYT-600 camera that offers better detail and more reliable color reproduction.
Finally, it should be mentioned that the performance is one of the most disappointing parts of the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite. And it repeats Snapdragon 695 5G (launched in 2021) from last year’s mobile, accompanied by the same capacity and memory formats: 8GB LPDDR4X type RAM and 256GB in UFS 2.2 format.
Obviously, the brand could have upgraded to a processor closer to the same economic mid-range as the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. What they did was with the software: it comes with OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14.
OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite prices and availability
The new OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite is now on sale in Spain and the rest of Europe. It can currently be purchased on the brand’s website for just €279, a €50 discount off the launch (official price €329).
The mobile is available in two colors (Mega Blue and Super Silver) and one memory configuration (8 GB + 256 GB). It is expected to reach the rest of the world in the coming weeks and can be purchased in retail stores such as Amazon.
