When it was presented there in August 2024, the Redmi 14C attracted a lot of attention. AND why not? If it’s one of the best low-end phones you can buy: a phenomenal design, good performance and a very competitive price. Come on, it’s pretty much everything. And we say “practically” because it is a model with 4G connectivity.
However, Xiaomi has decided to start the year on the right foot and surprise us. AS? Well, presenting the new Redmi 14C 5G, which arrives with much more powerbetter connectivity and more efficient consumption. It’s even nicer than the 4G model, so you won’t want to lose sight of it.

The Redmi 14C 5G takes everything that’s good about the 4G model and adds up to 65% more power
If there is something that Xiaomi understands, it is that what it does well should not be touched too much, except to improve it. That’s exactly what they’ve done with the Redmi 14C 5G, which takes the best of its little brother and adds a couple of tweaks that make it a brutal smartphone for the entry-level range.
The design, size and weight are exactly the same as the Redmi 14C 4G, including that stellar blue edition which is beautiful. The same thing happens with the screen, as it repeats the 6.88-inch IPS panel HD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate.
However, the processor changes and we are quite convinced that those 120 Hz will be used better. Why? Because the Redmi 14C 5G chip is the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, an up to 65% more powerful SoC compared to the Helio G81 Ultra of the 4G version. Come on, it will be very nice to play, except in extremely demanding games.
Also in the RAM and storage section there is a change, although we don’t understand it too much. The base configuration of the Redmi 14C 5G is 4GB + 64GBwhen the 4G model starts at 128GB. Most likely it’s a strategy to lower prices, but luckily we still have it 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 128GB variants. The operating system is Android 14, which runs on HyperOS and guarantees two updates.
In the photographic section, the 50 MP sensor with PDAF is repeatedthe same with the 2MP auxiliary camera. However, the front sensor drops from 13 MP to 8 MP. Finally, the 5160 mAh battery and 18W fast charging are also present, as well as the 3.5 mm audio jack.
Price and availability of the Redmi 14C 5G
Xiaomi will start selling the Redmi 14C 5G in India from January 10although there is no date for other countries. However, this type of cell phone always reaches the international market, therefore I’m sure we’ll see it in Europe in a few weeks.. Their prices in India are as follows:
- Redmi 14C 5G (4GB + 64GB): 9999 rupees, approximately 112 euros.
- Redmi 14C 5G (4GB + 128GB): 10999 rupees, approximately 123 euros.
- Redmi 14C 5G (6GB + 128GB): 11999 rupees, approximately 135 euros.
