Spotify Y Netflix Se Alian Para Publicar Contenido Videopodcast Juntos

Netflix signs an alliance with Spotify to expand its content offering

Spotify And Netflix Are Partnering To Co-Publish Podcast Video Content

Content in podcast format has been with us for years and is extremely naturalized. There are thousands of them, on just about any topic you can think of, and millions of us consume one every day.

Spotify is the flagship platform of this format, as it is one of the first to bet on it and its reach is gigantic. However, with the evolution towards video podcasts (audio + video), Spotify fell short, because it only dealt with audio. And why do we talk in the past tense? Why Spotify and Netflix have signed an alliance to expand the latter’s content offeringto the advantage of the scope of the former.

All Spotify Video Podcasts You Can Watch On Netflix

Through a press release published on their official blogSpotify has reportedly signed a deal with Netflix brings video podcasts of different topics to this video platform. This is great news, because it covers the most important gap that Spotify has had in recent years: audio content only, when a large number of podcasts already have video.

Of course, I don’t think any Spotify users will now be able to publish video podcasts to Netflix, at least not for now, but it’s a great first step towards making it happen. For now, The alliance will only cover video podcasts selected and produced by Spotify Studios or The Ringer.

This new content catalog will be available on Netflix early 2026 for the US. And if you’re wondering what the other markets will be, Spotify has revealed that we just have to wait, but that its plans include an expansion of the offer soon.

That’s something we agree on, but also Lauren Smithwho is vice president of content licensing and programming strategy at Netflix and said the following: “As video podcasts continue to grow in popularity, Our partnership with Spotify allows us to offer full video versions of these stellar shows to both Netflix and Spotify audiences.”
