Motorola Moto G85 Design Cameras Performance

The new Moto G85 is the next iteration of last year’s Moto G84, although we have to say we expected a bit more from it. You should also know that the Asian Moto S50 Neo is the international version where it takes all its specs.

Regarding the 2023 mobile, there are two changes that are worth noting, although they are less relevant than they seem. The first is the processor, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 seems like something new, but it is. A crude rebranding of the Snapdragon 695 5G used in the G84. The second is the front camera, which goes from 16MP on the Moto G84 to 32MP on the Moto G85. This sounds like a good thing, but keep in mind that more MP doesn’t always mean better quality. Other than that, there is no big news compared to last year’s device.

Motorola Moto G85 Battery Screen

The Moto G85 tweaks the design a bit and keeps the editions with a vegan leather back, which sounds like a success to us. The screen grows slightly to reach 6.67″. Maximum brightness goes from 1300 to 1600 nits. Of course, the P-OLED panel operating at 120 Hz is still used as of 2023 (this is not bad).

The RAM and storage configurations are the same as the Moto G85 sells for 12 GB + 256 GB. This was one of the biggest attractions of the Moto G84 and it continues on the 2024 device. Moto G85 has Android 14 with My UX.One of the easiest customization layers available as it introduces very few changes to the standard Android UI.

The Moto G85 has the same 50 MP primary camera as the G84 with OIS and f/1.8 focal aperture. Meanwhile, the auxiliary camera is 8 MP with ultra-wide angle f/2.2 and 118º field of view. Finally, you should know that The battery is 5000 mAh and fast charging is 30 W (Yes, just like the Moto G84).

Moto G85 price and availability

Motorola Moto G85 Price Availability Colors

As we mentioned above, the Moto G85 was introduced in Spain and it is only a matter of time before it goes on sale. As of this writing, we don’t know the price for our country, but it retails for £299.99 in the UK.

That’s about 355 euros in exchange, although we wouldn’t be surprised if it stayed at 299.99 euros. Keep in mind that the Moto G84 originally cost that much, so the Moto G85 is very similar so it shouldn’t increase in price.
