Motorola is still indebted to us launch of its flagship mobile phone by 2026even though we know they always take their time. However, this does not mean that everything is paralyzed, because they continue to launch smartphones from other ranges.
A few weeks ago they presented the Moto G06 and G06 Power for the low range, as well as the Moto Edge 60 Neo and Edge 70 for the mid range. Now they add two more devices, fresh from the oven. Let’s talk about it The Moto G and the Moto G Play of 2026, two very similar low-mid range phones each other. Discover all its specifications and details below.

Almost two drops of water with 120 Hz screens, but with different charging power and cameras

In honor of the truth, Motorola didn’t want to complicate its life too much with this couple of cell phones. They are practically identical to each other, even in size and weight. The only thing that changes are the cameras and charging power, so let’s start there.
The Moto G (2026) has 50MP + 2MP rear camerasas well as a 32MP front camera and 30W fast charging. Meanwhile, The Moto G Play (2026) has a 32MP rear cameraan 8 MP and 18 W front charging. From then on, they share the same specifications.
Both have 6.7-inch IPS panels HD+ resolution and peak brightness of just 1000 nitsalbeit with a 120Hz refresh rate. The processor is the Dimensity 6300 from MediaTeka chip that already has a successor, but which fits well in these Motorola ones for its price, unlike what happens with the Realme C85 5G.

They use Android 16 as the operating system and always with the minimum of changes. This is good for this specific couple, ever since They only have 4GB of RAM and filling the system with bloatware would be terrible for them.
The batteries are 5200 mAh in both cases and, curiously, they have three things that many appreciate, two of which are increasingly less present on mobile phones: accepts microSDXC, has headphone jack and its stereo speakers are compatible with 24-bit audio and Dolby Atmos.
Price and availability of the Moto G (2026) and Moto G Play (2026)

The Moto G (2026) will go on sale in the US and Canada starting December 11 from the website and select stores. On Amazon in those same countries it will be sold from January 15th. Meanwhile, the Moto G Play (2026) will be available starting November 13 across all sales channels in the US and Canada.
And Europe? There is no release date scheduled for Europe (and Spain, of course), but it will definitely be in the first quarter of 2026. These are the prices for the North American market, although with taxes and other things the conversion to euros should be almost 1:1:

- Moto G Play (2026) 4GB + 64GB: 169.99 dollars, in Spain it should be around 170 euros.
