A few months ago, Motorola introduced the most modest mobile phones of this generation so far, the Moto G04 and Moto G04s. Both are very similar to each other, a Unisoc Tiger T606 processor and a fairly limited specification. However, it turned out that the company was planning to launch a simpler device.
We are talking about the recently launched Motorola E14, whose design is inspired by the smartphones we have just mentioned. However, the new low-end has very simple details in many parts. How easy is it? It might be too much for 2024, but we invite you to continue reading about Moto E14 features below.
All details of Moto E14
The Moto E14 put the Moto G04 on a diet, but it was too much
If you hold the Moto G04 in one hand and the Moto E14 in the other, you won’t be able to tell them apart. The design, dimensions and weight are the same as most of its benchmarks, but the Moto E14 is a decaffeinated version of the G04.
Yes, it retains a 6.56-inch IPS panel. HD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate, as well as a Unisoc T606 processor and a 5000 mAh battery. However, the new Moto E14 is sold with a configuration Just 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, an absurd 2024 in the middle. At least it accepts Micro SD up to 1 TB.
It’s true that Android 14 has Go edition to use fewer resources. But with only 2 GB of RAM, this mobile easily chokes on any application. It happens if some apps have 4 GB of RAM, so consider the result in half. Additionally, managing a 90 Hz refresh rate will be very difficult for this mobile as it uses up its very limited resources.
Along with this, Moto E14 has reduced the rear camera of Moto G04 as it goes from 16 MP to only 13 MP. Fortunately, the front camera is the same at 5 MP, although going below that will be a tease for users. And speaking of bad decisions, the Moto E14 even misses out on the fingerprint reader, a feature that the entire market has been accustomed to for a long time.
Motorola Moto E14 price and availability
At the time of writing that article, the Moto E14 is already listed on the official Motorola website in the UK. However, the Moto E14 is said to cost £69.99, around €83, but pricing and a market release date are still unknown.
It is really a very economical device because it does not pass the 100 euro barrier. However, we think it’s better to save more and go for more complete options like POCO M6 4G, Redmi 13 4G or Galaxy A15 4G.
