The 2021 Huawei P50 Pocket finally has a real successor. The Chinese company has introduced the Huawei Kiss 2, a foldable clamshell smartphone with dual screens, a luxurious design, quad cameras, improved water resistance and more power. Huawei Pocket 2 specifications
The Huawei Pocket 2 was launched in two versions: one with a glass back and the other with leather. The first is white and gray with a marble finish, and the second is purple and black. Both use the new “waterdrop” hinge design, which eliminates the gap that previously existed between the screens when the device is folded.
As usual in recent years, Huawei did not reveal which processor this handset will use, but it is rumored to have the Kirin 9000S. If true, it is as powerful as the 2021 Huawei P50 Pocket or even slightly less. And there are no major upgrades in the memory department: 12 GB of RAM with 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of storage.
The main screen of the Huawei Pocket 2 is an OLED LTPO, it measures 6.94 inches, has a Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The circular outer screen measures 1.15 inches and is used to display the time, GIF, your mood picture, avatar, QR code, notifications and even the image captured by the camera for taking selfies.
The real improvement of this mobile compared to the previous generation is in the cameras. It is the first foldable clamshell phone with four sensors in the rear camera. Its main sensor is 50 MP with OIS, with a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, an 8 MP and 3x telephoto lens, and a curious 2 MP “hyperspectral” camera, depending on the brand, which can detect the size. It suggests that UV rays can help you apply sunscreen to your face and even detect deep sun spots.
The Pocket 2’s battery is 4520 mAh and supports up to 66W wired or 40W wireless fast charging. Another good feature is that while it’s not waterproof, the IPX8 certification means it can withstand splashes and even brief submersion.
Huawei Pocket 2 price and availability
For now, the Huawei Pocket 2 will only be sold in China at the following prices:
256 GB: 7,499 yuan or 962 euros in exchange rate. 512 GB: 7999 Yuan or 1026 Euros in exchange rate. 1 TB: 8,499 yuan or 1,091 euros in exchange rate. Art Edition (16 GB RAM + 1 TB): 10,999 yuan or 1,411 euros to convert.
There is no information yet on its international market launch, but considering that its predecessor has arrived in Spain, the Huawei Kiss 2 could land in this part of the world at some point.
