Videos have gone viral on TikTok where various people use the PS2 filter to turn their photos into beautiful video game images. Although the results are incredible, the truth is that using this result may not be as easy as it seems.
This is because the filter is not available on TikTok, Instagram or Snapchat, so you need to follow a series of steps to use the PS2 filter. Fortunately, we’ve put together two guides (one for PC and one for mobile) that explain how to make a PS2 filter for free.
Before we show you the relevant instructions, it is important to have a credit or debit card on hand, why? Because the website that offers this service needs to verify your identity with one of those payment methods.
The good thing is that replicating the website in question won’t cost you a dime to use the PS2 filter. Basically, the website runs a check and allows you to use the filter for free. Don’t be afraid! We submitted our credit card and have not received any payment.
Apply the PS2 filter to any photo on your PC
Enter the duplicate website from the browser on your computer. After logging in, click on the “Set Up Billing” option. So you need to click on “Sign in with GitHub”. If you have a GitHub account, you can sign in using it. Conversely, to create an account on GitHub, you need to click on “Create Account” (creating an account there is very easy). Once you are logged in, you need to click on “Allow Replication”. Then you have to click on “Set up Billing”. Enter your email address, credit or debit card information (can be virtual), full name and country. After all the information is filled, click “Save Card”. Go back to the duplicate website (the one we showed you at the beginning of the tutorial) and click “Drop file or click your upload” (you need to upload the photo you want to apply the PS2 effect). Select your photo. In the “Style” area, you should select the “Video Game” option. In “Quick” you should copy and paste the following query: “Pixelated glitchart of close-up of (subjet), ps1 playstation psx gamecube game radioactive dreams screencapture, bruce 3d” (without quotes). Click “Run” to execute the relevant query. Wait for the website in question to apply the result. Within seconds you will see the final result on the right side of your screen. You can save the photo with PS2 effect on your PC by clicking “Download”.
Use the PS2 filter from your phone
Open Google Chrome (we recommend using this browser) on your mobile phone and enter the duplicate website. In it, you have to click on “Set up billing”. Click on “Sign in with GitHub”. Sign in with your GitHub account. If you don’t have an account there, you can create one by clicking “Create Account”. Once you are logged in, you need to click on “Allow Replication”. Then you have to click on “Set up Billing”. Fill in all the information shown on the website (you must use a credit or debit card). Click “Save Card”.
When you’re done setting up your account, you’ll need to return to the website we mentioned at the beginning of the tutorial. Click on “Drop file or click your upload” (to upload the photo you want to apply the effect in question). Click on the “Files” icon. Select the photo you want to use. Click on “Clay”.
Select the “Video Game” option. In “Quick” you should copy and paste the following: “pixelated glitchart of close-up of (subjet), ps1 playstation psx gamecube game radioactive dreams screencapture, bruce 3d” (without quotes). Press the black “Run” button.
Wait for the website to apply the PS2 score. In seconds, you will see the final result. You can click on “Download” to download the image to your mobile.
