If you’ve been keeping up with Android news, or know someone with a Samsung Galaxy S24 mobile, you’ve probably heard about Circle, a search function. This new Android feature is available for the most recent Android mobile devices like the Pixel 8, but there are several ways to get other phones to have this functionality as well.
How to use “circle to search” on your mobile with a virtual assistant?
Recently, many Android phones have switched from Google Assistant to Google’s new AI. Regardless of your choice of assistant, both allow you to use the Surround feature to search. The only thing is that the function is slightly different in the process, but it works in the same way.
Use Surround to search for Gemini
Gemini is a fully developed and intuitive AI, which means that if you want to review what’s on your screen, all you have to do is ask the AI by following these steps.
Go to the page where the image you want to examine is located, say “Hey Google” aloud and open the Gemini Assistant. If you have not set up this voice assistant, we invite you to read our article on how to enable OK Google on your Android mobile. For example, something like “Gemini, can you give me more information about the phone on my screen?”
And voila, AI will give you the information you need to know and this whole process will be done completely by voice commands, which is very useful and amazing.
Use Surround to search with Google Assistant
If you haven’t upgraded your Assistant to Gemini yet, or simply have no desire to do so, don’t worry, Google Assistant can do the same thing in a different way:
The first thing you need to do is go to the screen you want, say “Hey Google” (or press the Home button until the assistant appears). Click on “Search on screen” option or search on screen and select the desired object or image. You can shrink or expand the box to make it easier to search on the Internet.
Wait a few seconds and Google will show you all the similar images online, giving you various information about what you want to know.
Take a screenshot and analyze it with Google Images or Google Lens.
Of course, this entire process is thanks to Google Lens technology, so obviously you have the option of directly using this app to search for a specific image online. All you need to do is follow the steps below.
Find the image you want to analyze and take a screenshot. Open the gallery and insert the photo you want to analyze. Click the option to send the photo. Choose Google Images or Google Lens, whichever works best for you. It’s the same, so there’s not much difference, just tap on the part of the photo you want.
And that’s it, now you just have to wait for the search results to get more information about that particular image. As you can see, the process is not the same as Surround to search, but the result is the same, so if your phone doesn’t have “Surround to search” option yet, feel free to use these methods.
