HyperOS 2.0 is the latest version of Xiaomi’s customization layer for its Redmi, POCO and Xiaomi phones. Its official announcement was made on October 23 and has already started reaching some devices via OTA updates. Hasn’t it arrived on your Xiaomi yet? How to update your Xiaomi to HyperOS 2.0
The HyperOS 2.0 update will arrive on your mobile via OTA. That is, you will receive a notification on your phone telling you that you can now update. If you haven’t received anything yet, you can Check for yourself if you can now upgrade to this new version by following these steps:
- Log in to the app Configuration.
- Select About the phone.
- Tap the name of the operating system (HyperOS).
- Automatically, the mobile will start looking for an update. If one is available, you will see a update button which you need to click to install the new version of HyperOS.
If it still doesn’t let you update, it could be for two reasons: your phone will not receive HyperOS 2.0 or Xiaomi has not yet sent the update to your phone. To rule out the first hypothesis, look at the “Device Name” that appears in the About Phone section. Then, look for that name in the list below with all the devices that will be updated to HyperOS 2.0.
In case your mobile phone is eligible for HyperOS 2.0 and the update date has already arrived, but it still does not allow you to install this new version, then try to force download HyperOS 2.0 as we will explain below.
How to force HyperOS 2.0 update
Xiaomi have a peculiarity and that is that, sometimes, An update is available, but your search system isn’t detecting it. It is therefore recommended to force the update in this way:
- And a Configuration.
- Enter About the phone.
- Press the operating system name (HyperOS, in this case).
- Tap the three points located in the top right corner.
- Choose Download the latest package.
So, the cell phone will check for the latest available update package, download and install itwhich may or may not include HyperOS 2.0.

Xiaomi has revealed the confirmed list of Redmi, POCO and Xiaomi devices that will receive the HyperOS 2.0 updateas well as the date they intend to send it. Please note that this list was published by Xiaomi’s China division, so dates and eligible devices may vary slightly for the rest of the world.

New features included in HyperOS 2.0
According to what Xiaomi itself revealed during the presentation of HyperOS 2.0, these are the most important new features included in the update:
- Hypermind 2.0: This new version of Xiaomi’s cognitive center improves the interconnection between devices, offering a smoother and more efficient experience.
- Renewed interface– Offers a more engaging design with new animations, new nature-inspired Super Wallpapers and smoother transitions.
- More virtual RAM: Allows you to expand your device’s RAM memory up to an additional 16 GB using free storage space.
- Less advertising– will include a button to easily remove most annoying ads.
- System optimization: Xiaomi has worked on improving energy efficiency, especially related to Hypermind, to offer a smoother and longer-lasting experience.
Does HyperOS 2.0 ship with Android 15?
HyperOS 2.0 has several versions, some come with Android 15 and some don’tjust like what happened with MIUI. Older models eligible for the update are expected to receive HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 14, while Xiaomi phones that already have this version of Android will upgrade to HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15.
