Instagram can be one of the most fun social networks or one of the most annoying, depending on how you use it. In my case, I always use it cleverly to look at pictures of some acquaintances or famous people. However, recently I started getting a lot of notifications from an account that kept me logged in to the app, even when I didn’t want to. And no, there were no notifications about important things.
The problem is, out of ignorance, I enabled notifications for a specific account based on the story that invited me to do so. I thought the post notifications from that account would only work temporarily, but the reality is they’re on forever and it’s getting annoying.
The easiest solution was to unfollow the account, but I didn’t want to do that, I just wanted to stop receiving notifications from that account so often. Luckily, I found an Instagram alternative that allowed me to do what I wanted and I’ll share it with you below if you’re having the same problem.
How to disable notifications for an account on Instagram without needing to follow
So, the solution to unfollow notifications from someone on Instagram without needing to be the following.
Open the Instagram app and go to the account profile for which you want to turn off notifications.Tap the bell icon at the top right of your profile to bring up a menu where you can turn off notifications for posts, stories, reels, live streams, and more. Easily adjust the options according to your preferences.
Once you do this, Instagram won’t alert you every time the account uploads a post, publishes a story, or anything else you’ve disabled. By default, all notifications for a specific account on Instagram are disabled, except for “When I go live” in “Some”, because live events usually take place on important occasions and you don’t want to miss them. .
We hope this short tutorial helped you make Instagram a less annoying app. By the way, if your problem is the opposite, see this article where we explain Why You’re Not Receiving Instagram Notifications and How to Fix It
