How to know if I live in a flood zone in Spain
The Spanish government’s National Flood Zone Mapping System (SNCZI) has a web application that shows a map with flood risk areas due to the flooding of rivers of fluvial origin (rainfall). This application opens from your phone’s browser with the following link:
Once the SNCZI map is open, follow these steps to see if you live in a flood zone from Spain:
- Press the options button (the one with the 9 paintings).
- Now select Service tree (the diagram button).
- The option appears here Areas at significant potential risk of flooding.
- Then enter Flood of river origin and click Hazard maps.
- Finally, select Danger due to river flooding T=10 years.
- And that’s it, after doing that you can close this options menu and look for the area where you live on the map to see if you are at risk of flooding.
What do you need to see on the map? WELL check that your area does not have the blue dotas they represent places at risk of flooding due to rainfall in the next 10 years.
