Telegram has received many updates in recent years, and although many of them have only added new features that can be used in the premium version, there are several that substantially improved performance in general of the messaging platform.
One of these improvements is related to sending links to websites. Now all links sent via Telegram, can be viewed without having to exit the application. In practice, a fully functional browser has been integrated that allows you to open web pages through private and group conversations (even from your own channels).
Of course there is something that has not been well received by many users, What? What This feature has been enabled by default on all Telegram accounts.. In short, it is no longer possible to open links in the browser that we have installed on the mobile device.
Fortunately, you can change Telegram’s default browser quickly and easily. By following the steps we’ll show you below, you will prevent Telegram from opening links they send you in your browser which is integrated into the messaging app.
- The first thing you need to do is open the Telegram application from your mobile device.
- Within the messaging application in question, you will need to do this press on the three horizontal lines that appear in the upper left corner of the screen.
- A menu will appear with several options, you will need to click on the option that says “Settings”.
- As a result, you need to access the section called “Chat”.
- And, as a final step, you will need to turn off the feature that says “Browser in the app”. Having disabled this option, Links sent via Telegram will open in the external browser that you use on your mobile phone (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, etc.).
Without much else to add on the subject, Telegram’s native browser is fully functionalso you can leave it enabled if you don’t want the application to be minimized when opening a link.
