GameSir continues to manufacture custom controllers to meet the specific needs of users. After the brilliant GameSir G8 Galileo, which became my favorite controller for mobile gaming due to how comfortable it is, the brand has launched the GameSir G8+. As its name suggests, This new command is an evolution of the G8 Galileo which comes with expanded compatibility as its main new feature.
And instead of just offering USB-C connectivity, the GameSir G8+ features both Bluetooth and USB wired connectivity. In addition, it is now capable of being extended much further, making it Compatible with the Nintendo Switch and even small tabletsIt’s basically a universal controller that will allow you to play on any platform without any difficulties. We’ve already tested it and here we tell you about our experience.

What is the GameSir G8+ controller like?
The GameSir G8+ is quite similar in design to the G8 Galileo. It has elongated grips that make it very comfortable to hold for both small and large hands. It has improved the grip, however, with a Non-slip textured surface prevents you from slippingeven if your hands sweat. On the other hand, its body is still made of solid and robust plastic that can withstand not very violent falls.
It is worth noting that the ABXY buttons, joysticks and front covers of the G8+ can be easily removed and put on, as they are magnetically attached to the body of the controller. This is quite useful, as You can change the order of the ABXY buttons to be like on Xbox or Switchremove the joysticks if they are damaged or put in ones of a different size, replace the casings if they break, etc. By the way, the box includes three joysticks of different sizes.
It is the most extendable GameSir controller to date, being able to Firmly hold devices up to 215mm (8.46 inches) in length. It can be used with small tablets or a Nintendo Switch without any problems. In addition, the surface of the controller that holds the device is made of a friendly material that will not do any damage to its finish.
On the back, it has two programmable buttons that you can opt out of if you want, although I have become so accustomed to putting the actions I use most in games on these buttons that they have become essential for me. How are functions assigned to these buttons? You can map them from the app or by using the button combination explained in the GameSir G8+ Manual. Note that you can remap all the buttons if you wantexcept for start, M and capture (•).
Easy to use with a wide variety of devices
The GameSir G8+ is as easy to use as any console controller. Once you turn it on by pressing the home button (the one with the GameSir logo) or simply extending it, You can pair it via Bluetooth to your device using the button combination correspondent:
- • button + action button below: It will go into Android mode (for Android phones and tablets) and the GameSir button will light up yellow.
- • button + right action button: It will go into DS4 mode (for iOS and Android) and the GameSir button will light up blue.
- • button + top action button: It will go into Switch mode (for Nintendo Switch) and the GameSir button will light up red.
- • button + plus button (+): It will go into G-Touch mode (to customize it with the app on Android) and the GameSir button will light up in turquoise.
After turning it on in the mode that best suits the device you are going to use it with, Just find it in your device’s Bluetooth pairing list, select it, and you’re done.. It will now be connected and you won’t have to do this again to use it! When you turn it on again it will automatically connect to the paired device (as long as it has Bluetooth enabled).
In case you want to use it with a computer, you have two options: use it in DS4 mode wirelessly via Bluetooth or connecting it directly to the PC with the 1-meter USB-C to USB-A cable included in the box. This last method is the most recommended if you are going to play competitive games and you don’t want to have any input lag at all. By the way, you can also connect it via cable to the Switch or to your phone.
To turn it off, hold down the start button for 5 seconds or It is left folded so that it turns off automatically. (although this will not happen if you are in G-Touch mode).
Anti-drift technology, Pro triggers, haptic feedback and more
My user experience with the GameSir G8+ couldn’t have been better. It has everything I could ask for in a controller.. Hall effect on joysticks and triggers to avoid drift problems in the future? Yeah. Analog triggers with rapid-fire and throttle-sensing mode? Yeah. Vibration motors on both sides for realistic, immersive haptic feedback? Yeah. Gyroscope to control games with the movement of the controller? Also. It’s very complete!

The only thing it doesn’t have is a 3.5mm jack to connect headphones, although I personally never use this port on controllers, especially when it comes to a wireless one like this one. Since I prefer not to have any delay in the audio, I always choose to connect the headphones directly to the PC or console.
As for the connection, I didn’t experience any lag or anything like that when using it wirelessly. Even, I used it with Game Pass and GeForce Now cloud gaming, and the latency was negligible. It feels comfortable in the hands, the feel of the buttons and triggers is nice, and overall it hasn’t given me any problems.
Another advantage of the GameSir G8+ is that it does not drain your mobile’s battery because it has its own 1000 mAh battery, divided into two parts of 500 mAh on each side of the controllerIt lasts long enough to not interrupt even a long game of about 4 hours, although I recommend always charging it after finishing playing to avoid running out of battery at the worst moment.
Is the GameSir G8+ controller worth it?
The GameSir G8+ is positioned as an excellent option for gamers looking for a high-quality controller that you can use with any deviceIts ergonomic design, Hall effect technology and wide compatibility make it an ideal companion for enjoying games on multiple platforms.
Could be A good replacement for the Joy-Con on your Nintendo Switch because it will never have drift and it is more comfortable for long games. Also, it is one of the few controllers of this type that is compatible with devices up to 8.46 inches, which makes it Ideal for tablets and foldable mobile phones like the Galaxy Z Fold.
The possibility of customizing it to the user’s taste, thanks to its interchangeable magnetic casings and programmable buttons, adds a plus of versatility. And its extras, such as vibration motors, analog triggers and gyroscope, round out A practically perfect controller with which I have had no complaintsIf you are looking for a controller that combines performance, comfort and customization, the GameSir G8+ is definitely a safe bet.
