Android is on the verge of becoming the ultimate portable video game console, thanks to the many emulators on hand. Just for retro games, there are plenty of options that will fill your phone with titles to try and spend as much time as you want. Others are more ambitious and put modern console games on the table, such as the Nintendo Switch.
And now, to keep adding to the possibilities, it seems that Cemu intends to join the list of Android emulators, bringing Wii U games to mobile phones under the brand. Recent leaks have shown the first version of Cemu, which is still in its infancy, but it is very clear that the project is underway to reach mobile phones.
Cemu: The Android version can be downloaded now, but it still needs work
An APK file called Cemu for Android was recently leaked from one of the Reddit communities dedicated to tipsters. It seems that the developers accidentally allowed parts of their ongoing project to leak, and put the files together until users got a very crude ported version for Android.
You can try it, you can, but as it is an ongoing development, don’t expect much. Users who tried to play the emulator on their phones faced all kinds of situations: phones with Mali graphics could not even run the emulator. This is not a problem and it is open to them, one or another title, etc.
The furthest we’ve gone is testing Mario Kart 8, which seems to work well on some devices. However, the emulator still lacks many settings and settings to be considered a solid option when playing Wii U games on Android.
If you’re curious and want to try installing it, we’ll leave the download link below (it’s been flagged on VirusTotal before, so don’t worry). Although it is better to wait until the developers of Cemu themselves release the official version from their official media. They have yet to comment on the leak.
