Baseus Security S1 Pro review: 3K cameras with solar panel

Baseus Security S1 Pro Security Cameras

A few weeks ago we recommended a Baseus security camera kit with a brutal quality-price ratio. But now, the brand has launched some new security cameras I have been blown away by its peculiar operation. This is the Baseus Security S1 Pro kit that includes two cameras with solar panels and 3K resolution, as well as a central station with storage of up to 3 months of videos.

What is special about them? Well, they are motorized cameras that They move automatically according to the position of the sun to be as exposed as possible to sunlight and thus stay charged all the time. In addition, they have a series of very useful intelligent functions that I will tell you about below.

What is the Baseus Security S1 Pro kit like and what does it include?

The Baseus Security S1 Pro security cameras have a bullet-type design with a solar panel that covers its entire upper part. Each camera has a telephoto lens with 8x digital zoom and a wide angle with a 120° field of view. They have a range of about 20 meters and, as they have a 100 lumen LED flash, they can see at night without problems.

Its body is solidly built with a remarkably thick plastic that Resists water, dust and a wide range of ambient temperatures (between -20°C and 50°C). So you can, they can stay running during snowfall, rain and even sand storms.

Although these cameras have a solar panel, The first time you use them you must charge them through the USB-C port that they have in their back. Once 100% charged, there will no longer be a need to use that port, as the cameras will charge themselves using sunlight.

Each camera has a motor inside that allows it move the solar panel 40° left and right following the movement of sunlight. In this way, the cameras ensure that they are in maximum exposure to the sun to charge their battery at all times. Its autonomy is practically infinite!

Another interesting detail about the Baseus Security S1 Pro cameras is that They have a PIR sensor to detect movement and establish special monitoring zones.

Installation is quite simple because they come with everything you need to do it in the box.. The cameras are installed by screwing their base to the wall and screwing them on. On the other hand, your central station or HomeStation simply connects to the power with the included adapter, and to the Internet with an Ethernet cable. Then, you will have to interconnect everything wirelessly using the Baseus application for cameras.

What is the central station for? It is in charge of receiving the recordings from the cameras and Save them in its 16 GB internal storage with capacity for 3 months of video. If that doesn’t seem like much to you, you can install a 2.5″ hard drive of up to 16 TB. Incidentally, there is no risk of your videos being leaked because they are stored locally with TÜV-certified military-grade encryption technology.

What can the Baseus Security S1 Pro do besides recording?

The Baseus Security S1 Pro kit application is not only for its initial installation and configuration. From there, you can also activate a series of interesting functions for smarter and more personalized surveillance. For example, you can see the videos and images captured by the cameras from your mobile phone and receive notifications of what is happening in your home or business.

You can establish monitoring zones and non-monitoring zones so that in this way only receive alerts for important activity and avoid false positives. The app also uses AI to identify people (or anything, depending on the filter you use) to let you know who exactly is in front of the cameras.

Something that I cannot ignore about these cameras is that offer two-way communication. They have a built-in microphone and speaker so you can talk to someone who is in front of them and they can listen to you and respond in real time. Very useful if you have children!

They can also be used with Google Home and Alexa. Ah! And all these functions are offered without any payment. You don’t have to subscribe to anything to take advantage of all its capabilities. By the way, they haven’t given me any problems during the time I’ve been using them. The 2.4 GHz connection works well and the image quality is very good, so I am more than satisfied with them.

Is the Baseus Security S1 Pro worth it?

The Baseus Security S1 Pro kit is much more than just a pair of security cameras. It is a complete surveillance system that combines cutting-edge technology with ease of use. Its expandable storage capacity, motion and people detection, and the possibility of defining areas of interest They offer a level of personalized security that is difficult to find in other security cameras.

Its solar panel and sun tracking motor (a first on the market) make this set of cameras a sustainable and efficient solution. By the way, its image quality is excellent and it covers a large space with its two sensors. So, if you value image quality, autonomy and flexibility, the Baseus S1 Pro cameras are an investment that will not disappoint you.

Of course, its launch price (€499.99) seems high to me, but the brand has launched a offer on Amazon for Prime Day (on October 8 and 9) which leaves this camera kit alone €399.99. A much more reasonable price and worth it:
