There are two ways to view WhatsApp statuses without your contacts knowing. Each of these methods is very easy to use. Plus, one of these doesn’t require any third-party apps.

The easiest way to view WhatsApp status without knowing it is to turn off read confirmation
The easiest option of all is to disable read receipts in WhatsApp settings. But if you turn this off, you won’t see the double blue check in chats, but the good thing is that you don’t need to disable it permanently.
Open WhatsApp and go to “Settings” (by touching the three dots in the upper right corner), the next thing is to enter “Privacy”.
You can re-enable read receipts when the story you were looking for is gone. That way, the contact who posted the status in question won’t know you saw the status, but make sure they don’t do it again before the story disappears or the contact in question can see you saw the story.
Use an app to manage files, it’s a good option.
If deleting read receipts doesn’t convince you, you can try using a file management application called FX File Explorer. Following are the steps by which you can use this app to view WhatsApp status without your contacts knowing.
Download and install the app from Google Play (we’ll skip the download box below).Open the “Main Storage” folder and press the three-dot menu on the top right to enable the “Show Hidden” option to show hidden files .whatsapp > WhatsApp > Media > .Status (although it may be called .Statuses).
Once you go through the folder path mentioned above, you can see the WhatsApp status published by your contacts and they don’t know. The only detail is to view images and videos without any ID, so you have to look at each image and video until you find one that interests you.
Additionally, you can use the native file management app you have installed in your smartphone’s customization layer and navigate to the same folder address we mentioned. You just need to make sure it shows hidden files otherwise this method won’t work for you.
