Renowned market analysis firm Canalys has recently published its results report for the first quarter of 2024 (Q1 2024) on the European mobile market. And this is not only a positive number (sales have been declining since the pandemic), but an important achievement for the Android mobile world.
And Samsung is not only the best-selling brand of mobile phones in Europe, but its latest brand (Galaxy S24 Ultra) has managed to sell as much as Apple’s new flagship (iPhone 15 Pro). Next, we’ll tell you everything this new report from Canalys left behind.

The iPhone 15 was the best seller of Q1 2024, while Samsung leads the market with a 37 percent share and continues to grow.
Now overall, mobile phone sales in Europe have grown by 2 percent compared to the first quarter of last year. In total, approximately 33.1 million units were sold. And of this sum, Samsung was the largest seller of mobile phones with a total share of 37%.
In addition, Samsung’s sales grew by 2% compared to Q1 2023, as did other Android mobile brands such as Xiaomi (2%), Motorola (73%) and Honor (103%).
Meanwhile, Apple remains the second best-selling brand with a 27 percent market share in the first quarter of 2024. However, the Apple brand was the only one that did not grow, with a year-on-year growth rate of -17 % in Q1 2024.
