The new silicon-carbon (Si/C) batteries are revolutionizing the world of mobility and the reason is simple: they are much denser than classic lithium batteries, which allows the energy capacity they can accumulate to be significantly increased without sacrificing space. This has led many manufacturers to bet on them in their latest generation top-of-the-range smartphones, including HONOR.
However, what we warned earlier about this type of batteries and our market is confirmed once again, because HONOR Magic8 Pro will arrive with less battery in Europe.
The European HONOR Magic8 Pro will have a 12% smaller battery.

The new HONOR Magic8 Pro is an incredible phone in every wayfrom the screen, to the processor, to the software, to the cameras and the battery. This was presented in mid-October in China and the brand itself confirmed that the leap to the global market would happen shortly. When will it happen? We don’t know, probably early 2026, but there is new information for the international variants, which you are unlikely to like.
It turns out that the two main variants of the HONOR Magic8 Pro, the global one and the European one, will have smaller batteries than the Chinese version. In case you don’t remember, this device at home it has a 7200 mAh battery (China)excellent ability.
The global version will have a 7100 mAh batterywhich it represents a reduction close to 2% and it’s not a big deal. With the European variant, however, things are much more serious.

The HONOR Magic8 Pro It will be sold in Europe with a 6270 mAh battery, almost 12% less capacity. Yes, that’s 1000mAh more than the capacity of the European HONOR Magic7 Pro, but the difference compared to the Chinese version at the time wasn’t that big.
And as if the above wasn’t enough, there will also be a reduction in charging power. The Chinese Magic8 Pro offers 120W fast charging, while The global and European versions will remain at 100W. That’s still plenty of power, but it’s about 17% less. Fortunately, wireless fast charging will not be changed, remaining at 80W for all variants.
However, the UN 3480 and UN 38.8 regulations have done it again: They left us cell phones that have less battery than their Chinese counterparts. When will this problem be resolved? We don’t know, but technology is pushing regulations and it’s time for an update. That, or pay more, which no one wants.
